New Java’s
A big thank you to Stuart Drury for helping me out with some new Javas, as you know the last
birds Stuart gave me escaped, I have been looking for some good Java’s here in Devon, but I can
not fine quality birds, I know Stuart only keeps good birds with their history, as you can see in
the photo above, The birds Stuart let me have are a silver hen, two split Agate, and a normal all
of breeding age, now when the bird room is finished I can start to breed, Thanks Stuart!

See Stuarts website and see Stuart & Me on the day

News on the birdroom

Today I have been boxing out the bird room, this time I am using floor boards to line the shed with, each board is
18mm thick 8 foot long by 2 foot wide plus they all lock together, also I have finished the floor with hard board
this will be covered with self sticking vinyl floor tiles
Photo 2 is showing the door end of the shed, I have narrowed the entrance of the shed so I can have wider indoor
flights, the other side of the shed will be holding the breeding cages

10/06/07

It’s been a busy weekend in the bird room all the woodwork is finished the extractor fan is fitted, the big plus this
time is I have made the roof solid this time, this is a first in any of my bird rooms, I have concealed all the wiring in
the apex of the roof using a 18” wide plank of plywood. The room has just had it’s first coat of paint, with the
second coat to finish off tomorrow.

Here are some of the java’s Stuart gave me enjoying the
afternoons sunshine, it’s lovely to here the cock java’s singing
away while I am working in the bird room

    Welcome to Devon

My good mate Stuart Drury visited me today, Stuart is here in Devon on holiday with his family, he did say
last time we meet up he was coming to Devon and he would pop in and see me, as you can see on the photo
we are standing in the new bird room, this may be ready for the birds this weekend or the latest midweek
next week, Stuart and I spent a good 2 hours talking Java’s and aviaries, Tom my son talked about and
showed Stuart his budgies, all three of use had some good tips and ideas to share.
