Now I have finished with Java Sparrows I still need to be working with birds, I do spend time with Tom and help where I can with building bit's and bob's for his budgies, but I have been looking for something different to keep which I have never had before and here it is chickens, over Christmas I have been doing my research on chickens plus talking to other chicken keepers and the bug is starting to bite, after looking into the different types of chickens I have decided to go with Sussex Light chickens purely on the look of the bird, I have tracked down a good breeder to supply me with 4 or 6 birds, as with any bird it's always good to buy from a breeder that specializes in the species as they can help with any questions about keeping them. This is a whole new adventure for me and the family luckily for me my wife, and daughter likes the idea of chickens as well. Over the next two months we will be preparing for are new arrivals at the end of February, we have to make the garden secure plus make for the first time a chicken coop, I have looked all over the net for help designing a coop but I can not fined any plans so when I start to build the coop I will run a new diary page with photos and text on how to build one should anybody be thinking of keeping chickens in the future
